The world looks to Greater Washington to lead. To do that, we must understand that our future is written by the way we prepare our young people to lead. We must ensure our region's young people are equipped with the skills that 21st century employers demand and the tools to navigate an uncertain job market, complex financial decisions, and evolving world economy.
The JA® Generation is a generation that is financially capable. A generation of young people who understand how to solve problems creatively. A generation that manages risk, welcomes opportunity, and possesses the skills to work in a team environment. The JA® Generation is tenacious and ready to navigate their path to the American Dream.
It sounds like a tall order, but at Junior Achievement®, we believe that we can empower an entire generation of young people to succeed if we build a clear path from the classroom to the future; a path paved by a unique combination of hands-on, dynamic financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs taught by a volunteer role model from the community.
This year, almost 53,000 students became Junior Achievement® graduates and members of this JA® Generation thanks to our more than 4,000 volunteers and other community partners.
